Create Your Own Bonsai Beginner’s Course – 31 October 2026

This course welcomes complete beginners as well as those with some bonsai experience. Simply bring one of your own trees to work on, or buy a starter tree and pot at the nursery on the day. Starter trees start from R65, pots from R65 and wire from R23, so you can easily shop to suit your budget.

Best of all, you leave with a bonsai you have designed, pruned, wired and potted yourself.

The course starts promptly at 09h30 and runs for approximately 3 to 4 hours, so we recommend arriving early to settle in. Cost: R600. As spaces fill fast, please register well in advance. No spectators please.

What to bring: secateurs, trimming scissors, wire cutters, refreshments and a pencil and paper if you’d like to take notes. In addition, the nursery stocks tools, starter trees and pots for purchase on the day.

Booking and cancellation policy

Spaces are limited and courses fill quickly, so please book early. Note that we run each course with a minimum of 6 participants.

We cannot accept cancellations within 72 hours of the course date. If you can’t make it, however, you are welcome to send someone in your place. If you cancel more than 72 hours before the course, we will gladly offer a full refund or move your booking to a later date. One date change is permitted per booking.
