Seiju elms, scientifically known as Ulmus parvifolia ‘Seiju’, are highly valued by bonsai enthusiasts. These miniature Chinese Elms have a compact, upright growth habit, making them ideal for bonsai cultivation.
They are deciduous, losing their leaves in winter.
They produce very small, textured leaves in vibrant green during the growing season. Their branches train and shape easily, allowing for intricate and balanced designs.
Seiju elms tolerate a wide range of climates and respond well to pruning, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor displays. They remain a popular choice for bonsai.
